Calla Cane is a full service design studio built to guide your home from the ground up. With a licensed architect now in house, we oversee everything from the first sketch and structural plan through kitchen and bathroom design, interiors, and construction management, all under one roof. We're thoughtful about using environmentally and socially responsible products and curating an appreciation for the artisans behind them. We work transparently and execute projects within the budgets our clients provide.
As we guide you through this process, we listen a lot. From your design preferences and aesthetic to practical considerations for your space/lifestyle, we will deliver the strongest version of your vision for your home. We have experience with working with all kinds of specifications–kids, pets, minimalism, traditionalism, only vegan materials...you name it. We create beautiful spaces that support and celebrate how you live.

As founder and creative director, Calla works closely with clients to lead creative direction and design development, collaborating with a highly specialized team to create award-winning spaces. She believes design is rooted in good composition and scale, and she's passionate about creating homes tailored to how her clients live that simply feel good to spend time in.
Calla's design education began early. The daughter of an architectural photographer, she grew up shadowing her father on shoots for Elle Decor, Luxe, Veranda, and The New York Times. Those shoots sharpened her eye for light, color, and space.
She continued her training with architectural firms in New York City and Connecticut, then went on to work with several interior designers. Wanting to understand construction firsthand, she joined a construction firm, working onsite with carpenters to develop millwork drawings and learn the real cost and practicality of design. That ground-up knowledge helped shape Calla Cane's expansion into full in-house architectural services.
Calla pairs a high level of design with a practical approach to construction, timelines, and livability. Her goal is to guide each client through an approachable, enjoyable journey from start to finish.
